Google releases final preview build of Android P ahead of public launch

Google has just released the final preview build of Android P for developers and users enrolled in the Android Beta Program. Beta 4 aka Developer Preview 5 could release sometime in August or September this year. It includes final APIs for developers to review and make any changes (if applicable) to offer a smooth experience for the upcoming public release. The final preview version is quite stable to download and didn’t report any major issues or bugs.

Android P is set to bring plethora of new features that would prove quite handy for users. To name a few, the upcoming Android OS includes an all-new updated notification panel, quick reply for notifications, an updated UI, AI-powered battery optimization, revamped emoji design, new security API, gesture navigation, Indoor Positioning with Wi-Fi RTT, Display cutout support and much more.

Android P Developer preview is available for download on Google Pixel devices. However, there’s a list of smartphones from other manufacturers as part of Project Treble. The devices except Pixel handsets which are able to run the preview include Essential Phone, Nokia 7 Plus, OnePlus 6, Oppo R15 Pro, Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Vivo X21 UD and Vivo X21.

Beta 4 aka Developer Preview 5 comes with API level 28 and build number PPP5.180610.010 with July, 2018 security patch and runs Google Play Services version 12.4.46.
