A long series of rumors came to rest when OnePlus finally confirmed launch date for its most anticipated smartphone, the OnePlus 5. The phone will be unwrapped at 12 PM EDT on June 20, 2017. However, Indian users need to wait for a couple of days as the phone is set to launch on June 22 in India. In a statement, OnePlus India confirmed that the smartphone will launch on June 22 at 2 pm in a launch event in Mumbai and will be exclusive to Amazon India.
The phone is long rumored to sport a dual rear camera setup. Earlier leaks indicated that the smartphone will feature a vertical rear-dual camera. However, the most recent image suggests that the smartphone will have dual camera setup lined horizontally which closely resembles to iPhone 7. The smartphone’s main highlight is its camera segment. In a blog post on the OnePlus official forum, the company said “We are happy to announce that we have teamed up with DxO to enhance your photography experience with our upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 5.
The company came up with a teaser for the launch event that carries a tagline ‘Focus on what matters’. However, it remains to be seen what company has in store for its fans.
Meanwhile, the company knows what role Indian market can play in making its smartphone a grand success. OnePlus is inviting its Indian fans to the launch event. If you are a OnePlus fan and want to attend the event, you can do so by purchasing tickets from company’s official online store on 12th June 2017. All fans who attend the launch event will get a gift hamper and OnePlus merchandise .
In a statement OnePlus said, “Selected fans will also get a chance to purchase the OnePlus 5 at the event itself and own the device before anyone else in the country.”
