Vivo Y16 4G announced with 6.51-inch display and Helio P35 SoC

Vivo has introduced a new Y-series smartphone: Vivo Y16 4G. The device is an entry-level offering that is now official in Hong Kong. To recall, the phone was also spotted on the BIS and FCC certification websites, hinting at an approaching launch in India and other markets. The Vivo Y16 is built around a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display with a center-aligned water drop notch cutout. Tt features a flat polycarbonate frame design with curved corners. Also, the panel offers an HD+ resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels.

Under the hood, an octa-core processor based on MediaTek Helio P35 SoC powers the smartphone. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In addition, the phone supports Extended RAM 2.0 and offers 1GB of additional virtual RAM. For software, it comes pre-installed with Android 12 along with a layer of Funtouch OS 12 on top.

In terms of optics, the Vivo Y16 4G carries a rectangular camera module on the back. The setup consists of a 13MP primary lens and a 2MP secondary sensor. Also, it supports panorama, face beauty, live photo, time-lapse, pro, and document modes. At the front, there’s a 5MP snapper for selfies.
