Asus Zenfone 9 in works, tipped to power Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC

Asus is reportedly preparing a new device that will sit over the Zenfone 8— Asus Zenfone 9. As always, the company did not confirm the rumors. However, some leaks have revealed everything about the upcoming phone, including the moniker, model number, specifications, and price. Let’s take a look at the known facts of Zenfone 9.

According to the rumors, the Asus Zenfone 9 is already in the works with the model number AI2202. As for the specifications, the smartphone is said to feature a 5.9-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Also, the panel will be IP68 rated for dust and splash resistance.

Under the hood, the handset may draw power from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC. This chipset is likely to be paired with three storage configurations: 8GB/ 128GB, 8GB/ 256GB, and 16GB/ 256GB. In addition, a 4,300 mAh power cell is tipped to keep the system working.

In the shooting department, the upcoming Zenfone 9 is suggested to carry a dual-camera led by a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. The module will be set up with gimble stabilization as well. The other notable features can include a headphone jack, dual speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner to serve security.

Further, the leaks claim that the phone will arrive in Black, Blue, and Red color options. Besides, the base Zenfone 9 model is expected to cost around €800-900. Considering Asus’s protocol, the phone will probably launch in the global market first. Lastly, the company may rename the device as ZenFone 9Z in India which can be priced at ₹64,700 – 72,800.
