OnePlus 9RT gets OxygenOS 12 Open Beta 1 update

OnePlus has been pushing the OxygenOS 12 update to its smartphone. Recently, it pushed the update for OnePlus Nord N200Nord 5GNord 2, and many other smartphones. OnePlus launched the OnePlus 9RT smartphone along with the OnePlus 9 series smartphone. It was running out of the box on OxygenOS 11 (based on Android 11). OnePlus has now started rolling out the OxygenOS 12 Open Beta 1 update to the smartphone. The update will be available to 9RT users running on A.08. It weighs around 4.5GB and comes with many changes, including Android 12 and OxygenOS 12 features.

OnePlus brings support for the Work-Life Balance feature to the OnePlus 9RT. It helps its users to switch between Work and Life modes. The camera app will now perform better due to the optimizations. There will be a complete difference in the user interface. It gets new desktop icons with improved textures. The auto-brightness will work better now and brings adaptation to more scenes. The shelf now supports Cards, Earphone Control Card, OnePlus Scout, and a OnePlus Watch Card. Here is a detailed changelog of the update;

    • Newly supported three adjustable levels, bringing a more personalized and comfortable user experience

    • Newly added style options for Cards, making data contents more visual and easier to read
    • Newly added Earphone Control Card with Bluetooth earphone one-click adjustment
    • Newly added access to OnePlus Scout in Shelf, allowing you to search multiple contents on your phone, including Apps, Settings, Media Data, etc
    • Newly added OnePlus Watch Card in Shelf, to easily glance at your health status

    • Newly added Work Life Balance feature, allowing you to effortlessly switch between Work and Life mode via quick settings
    • Supported automatic Work/Life mode switching, based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network, and time, also bringing customized App notification profiles according to the personalization

    • Newly supported switching between different layouts with a two-finger pinch gesture, intelligently recognizing the best-quality pictures, and cropping the thumbnail based on the content, making the gallery layout more pleasing
  • Canvas AOD
    • Newly added diverse styles of lines and colors, for a more personalized lock screen experience with inspiring visuals
    • Newly added multiple brushes and strokes and support for color adjustment
  • Games
    • Optimized the gaming experience in team fight scenes
    • Newly added the HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilizer
  • Camera
    • Optimized the display of camera modes on the menu bar
    • Optimized the experience of zooming in or out when shooting videos with rear camera
  • Accessibility
    • Newly added visuals to text instructions for an intuitive understanding of accessibility functions
    • Newly supported more system apps in TalkBack, including Photos, Phone, Mail, and Calendar
    • Optimized categorization of functions by grouping them into vision, hearing, interactive actions, and general

Make sure to have a storage space of 5GB since the update weighs around 4.5GB. Also, you must have a battery level of 30% before updating your device. After downloading the update from here, install the OxygenOS local updater app. Open the app and, find the update package & tap on it. It will take some to update, and tap on reboot once it completes. OnePlus also provides an option to roll back to OxygenOS 11.
