Samsung Galaxy S23 series will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with an overclocked GPU!

Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset a few days back during the Snapdragon Summit. Soon after the launch, there were many teasers from different brands. OnePlus would launch the first smartphone with the 8 Gen 2 chipset. Other smartphone brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Moto confirmed their phones with the chipset. Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra has popped up in a GeekBench listing. The listing reveals that the smartphone will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with an overclocked GPU.

Popular leaker Ice Universe said this is an exclusive high-frequency version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The leaker calls the chipset Samsung’s special edition Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. There is no confirmation about the naming, whether it will be called this or just the common name. He adds that the clock speed of 8 Gen 2 will be 3.36GHz for the prime core, 2.80GHz for the performance cores, and 2.02GHz for the efficiency cores.

As per Qualcomm, the official clock speed of 8 Gen 2 is 3.2GHz for the prime core, 2.8GHz for the performance core, and 2.0GHz for the efficiency cores. In contrast, the clock speed of the Adreno 740 GPU has been increased to 719MHz instead of 680MHz. The upgraded 8 Gen 2 chipset has improved Artificial intelligence, 5G, performance, gaming, Wi-Fi 7, and much more.
