Xiaomi resumes Android Oreo OTA for Mi A1 with bugs fixed

Few days back, Xiaomi paused the Android Oreo OTA rollout for the Mi A1 as users faced number of issues. Some of which were cannot be tolerated such as the unresponsiveness of dialer app. But, now Xiaomi once again started seeding out the Android Oreo update with number of bugs fixed. Also, the users who already updated their device to Oreo are receiving a minor update which fixes those bugs.

At the end of last year, Xiaomi started rolling out the Android Oreo update to the Mi A1 as they promised. However, the update brought number of bugs to the popular Android One device. And as users started complaining regarding it, Xiaomi pulled back the update few days ago. But, now Xiaomi once again started the Android Oreo rollout with some bugs fixed. For those on Android Nougat, the update weighs 1112.4 MB and for those who are already on Oreo, the minor bug fix update weighs 89 MB.

The new update fixes the dialer app issue, Bluetooth battery drain and others. It also removes SIM HD notification and adds gestures options in settings. Thus, users can now enable fingerprint gestures. The update also brings the security patch level to January. It is good to know that Xiaomi responded quickly and fixed those bugs. However, some users are still complaining about camera app which has slow down.

As OTA updates are rolled out batch wise, so it might take time to reach your device. Hence, have patience and make sure you have enough battery while downloading the update.
