HMD Global announces Nokia 7 with Snapdragon 630 in China

HMD Global, the company behind Nokia branded Android smartphones announced a new mid-range device known as Nokia 7 in China. This is the first mid-ranger from the company and also the first to have glass back. It also comes with ‘Bothie’ functionality which was first introduced in the flagship Nokia 8.

Under the hood, the new Nokia 7 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The 4GB RAM variant comes with 64GB of on-board storage, whereas the 6GB RAM variant comes with 128GB. The storage can be further expanded via microSD card. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery which has support for 18W fast charging. The phone is also IP54 certified and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

On the front, there is a 5.2 inches FHD IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass protection. The frame of the body is made up of series 7000 aluminium and the back consists of 3D Gorilla Glass. The primary camera is a 16MP sensor with 1.12µ pixels and f/1.8 aperture and the secondary camera is a 5MP shooter with 1.14µ pixels and f/2.0 aperture. The cameras come with ‘Bothie’ feature which enables user to capture photos and shoot videos from both the cameras simultaneously.

The Nokia 7 is priced at RMB 2,499(₹24567, $377) for the 4GB / 64GB variant and RMB 2,699(₹26533, $408) for the 6GB / 128GB variant. It will be available in Gloss Black and Matte White color variants and the sale starts from October 24. HMD Global did not reveal anything about the international debut of the Nokia 7 yet.
