After the fruitful rollout of the new update to the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 2.2, the company has now begun seeding the March 2021 Security Patch to the Nokia 2.4. The update weighing 18.15MB is currently spinning out only in the European markets. However, we can expect a broader release shortly.

As expressed by the changelog, the update doesn’t contain any other things apart from the new security patch. In most cases, security updates incorporate Google bug fixes, improvements, optimizations, etc. Below is the March security patch bulletin from the Google website.

The most severe of these issues is a critical security vulnerability in the System component that could enable a remote attacker using a specially crafted transmission to execute arbitrary code within the context of a privileged process. The severity assessment is based on the effect that exploiting the vulnerability would possibly have on an affected device, assuming the platform and service mitigations are turned off for development purposes or if successfully bypassed.

As the update follows staggered rollout, you may need to be patient for a few days to get it. Nokia advises users to switch to a WiFi network to keep away from carrier data charges. As always, users can head to Settings>About>Software updates to check the update.
