WhatsApp announces โ€˜Flowsโ€™ feature to expand its in-app shopping experience

0

Meta introduces a new feature called WhatsApp Flows which enables companies to communicate with their clients and seamlessly offer services. Customers who use these services may accomplish a number of tasks without leaving WhatsApp, so to speak. The second annual Conversations conference was hosted on Wednesday in Mumbai by the Meta-owned app. Several new features for WhatsApp for Businesses in India were unveiled at the occasion.

WhatsApp โ€˜Flowsโ€™ Feature

On Wednesday, Mark Zuckerberg unveiled several new WhatsApp capabilities for both people and companies. These enhancements, which aim to streamline communications with companies using WhatsApp conversations, were presented at WhatsAppโ€™s Conversations event in Mumbai.

Businesses will be able to provide a variety of services to clients inside WhatsApp chat windows thanks to WhatsApp Flows. For instance, if a company offers booking services, clients may easily select their train seats, place food orders, or purchase tickets without ever leaving the conversation. Shortly, WhatsApp will make this capability accessible to companies throughout the world via the WhatsApp Business Platform.

Using the feature, customers can also:

  • Book appointments
  • Log in to their accounts
  • Customize a product that theyโ€™re interested in
  • Fill out and submit forms
  • Sign up for events and promotions

When communicating with companies using WhatsApp Flows, all information you input is sent securely to the company. Additionally, the business is providing additional payment partners for clients in India, where WhatsApp has more than 500 million users, throughout the checkout process.

Customers could only make payments over the UPI-based Unified Payment Interface network WhatsApp Pay without leaving the app when WhatsApp teamed with Reliance Jio for an end-to-end purchasing experience last year. Users may now make payments using other UPI applications, credit and debit cards, and payment gateway companies Razorpay and PayU.

Google Pixel Watch 2 will feature a thermometer, new UI, and personal safety upgrades

Googleโ€™s โ€œMade by Googleโ€ launch event is just around the corner. At the launch event, the company will introduce the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2. Certainly, prior to the Pixel Watch 2โ€™s anticipated October release, we have got to know that enhancements to the Fitbit and Personal Safety wearable versions will be made available, as well as a thermometer sensor is also expected on the Pixel Watch 2.

First, the inclusion of a skin temperature sensor in the Pixel Watch 2 is a Fitbit Sense 2 feature that supports the prior reports. Users will have the option to monitor their skin temperature on demand, and the Fitbit mobile app will provide access to previous readings. The sources claim that the Pixel Watch 2 will have additional features initially seen on the Fitbit Sense 2.

Pixel Watch 2 Features (Expected)

The sensors in Googleโ€™s next wristwatch are expected to be upgraded, as revealed in a recent official teaser for the Pixel Watch 2. The fact that the Pixel 8 Pro will come with a thermometer suggests that Google is pushing for body temperature measurements on a larger scale. Itโ€™s unclear at this time how these two temperature sensors will work together or even whether theyโ€™re meant to serve the same functions.

Second, as per reports, Fitbitโ€™s on-watch exercise UI is getting a makeover in tandem with the Pixel Watch 2. The new design will be more in line with Googleโ€™s smartwatch aesthetic, whereas the current version shows your current stats like heart rate and distance in a straightforward, unadorned arrangement.

Last but not least, Pixel Watch 2 will also upgrade the userโ€™s personal safety experience. Consequently, the automobile collision detection function on Pixel phones will operate in conjunction with the Pixel Watch 2. Your watch will show your primary medical data when your phone has detected a crash so that emergency personnel may quickly access it.

According to reports, the Pixel Watch 2 will have a function that is similar to that of the Pixel phone: the ability to schedule a Safety Check. Todayโ€™s smartphones include a feature called Personal Safety that checks in with you after a certain countdown has passed. If you donโ€™t react, your emergency contacts will be informed of your position. To use Safety Check on your watch will need a mobile date connectivity.

Moreover, Emergency Sharing, which enables you to share your location with trusted emergency contacts, will also receive full support in the wearable version of Personal Safety. Importantly, if your Pixel Watch 2 has LTE and an active data plan, Emergency Sharing will function even without your phone.

The three-year-old device was launched in August 2020. The phone was not as remarkable as some had thought because it only offered a very slight improvement over the Pixel 3a. Consequently, users must note that this is implied to only the Pixel 4a 4G version and not for the 5G version. The Pixel 4a 5G will receive an Android 14 OS update as the smartphone is eligible for it and considered by Google.

Samsung is expected to launch the new successor to Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, but as per previous leaks, it will be a lite version. Considering the model number of Galaxy Buds 2 Pro which starts with SM-R5xx, the new wireless earbuds with model number SM-R400N seem to be the lower-end version.

The report also cites it to be the Buds 2+ or Buds FE or something that suits the naming scheme of the company. The pattern seems quite familiar with the launch time of low-end Buds, as Samsung usually announces such a wearable before the launch of the next version of Buds.

However, we donโ€™t have any more information about the new buds. But, we do believe the buds will surely make appearances on the other public certifications and some leaks will clear the picture in the near future.

So, the remaining EB-BS922ABY appears to be for the Galaxy S24 base variant which will bear model number SM-S922.

However, Korean Safety reveals images of these batteries and even confirms the presence of some other certifications such as BIS India. However, the text is not clear on images but, the capacity of the EB-BS926ABY, and EB-BS928ABY is already confirmed via DEKRA certification a week ago. The batteries are manufactured by Amperex.

We expect details about the EB-BS922ABY battery to surface in the coming few weeks.

Google Messages gets redesigned home screen for Android 14 Beta users

0

The home screen update for Google Messages has been broadly handed out to users in the beta channel. The most recent version is 20230719_05_RC00, however, todayโ€™s new top bar is a server-side change. Interesting changes are being made by Google to the Messages home screen, including the removal of the navigation drawer and the addition of prominent branding to the Android app.

Eventually, this redesign appears to be very certain as testing intensifies, despite not yet being visible to stable users. With beta version 20230717_01_RC00, Google Messagesโ€˜ home screen has undergone another change. Instead of the top part being entirely flat, there is now an app bar with a deeper Dynamic Color tone.

With this redesign, message organization, which had recently come back for beta users is not enabled. Meanwhile, Google has somewhat modified the search criteria. This new appearance has not yet been widely adopted. A magnifying glass symbol is all you get in place of a full-width search bar. The four-color โ€œGโ€ logo for Google is in the top-left corner, followed by โ€œMessages.โ€
