Samsung releases May 2021 security patch to Galaxy S20 series

Maintaining its protocol, Samsung started releasing the May 2021 security patch even before the month begins. The company has sent the safety level to the Galaxy S21 series yesterday. At the moment, the Korean giant is giving a similar bump to the predecessor, the Galaxy S20 lineup.

The new build for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra arrives on firmware version G98xxXXU7DUDB. The May 2021 security patch is currently rolling out in Germany weighing over 600MB. However, the other regions probably have to hold on a little longer.

Along with the newer security patch, the changelog mentions additional camera improvements and Quick Share to the Galaxy S20 family. Also, it drives the device’s stability by resolving some known bugs.

Changelog

  • The performance of the camera has been improved
  • Enhanced Quick Share
Improve file sharing between Galaxy devices using Quick Share
  • The security of your device has been improved.

The Advanced Features section on the Galaxy S20 series now gives convenient access to the Quick Share menu. Moreover, unlike before, the users don’t have to visit Quick Share settings to change privacy selection. In fact, they can set to share files with everyone or only with your contacts below the quick toggle.

If you are a Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, or Galaxy S20 Ultra owner in Germany, the pop-up notification regarding the OTA update will reach your devices. If you have not received the package yet, head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
